Should I have my dress dry-cleaned in advance?

For the most lovely end set of finished designs, we should start with a clean dress.

If your dress has not been stored in a closed box or is starting to yellow, having it professionally dry cleaned may be a good idea. We do offer dry cleaning for a $85 fee.

How do I ship my dress?

We recommend our secure DressBox. We'll send it right to your address and include a pre-addressed return label, so all you have to do is slip your dress inside. The DressBox fee is $100 and covers shipping and insurance, your Design Consult, and 6 months of fabric safekeeping.

You can also send in your dress directly to Unbox the Dress, 4410 Providence Ln, Suite M, Winston Salem, NC 27103. You must place an order before sending in your dress. Include your name and order number please!

What if I change my mind after I ship my dress?

We're happy to return your dress for the cost of shipping and handling. You can also enroll in our Save to Transform program and store your dress with us until you're ready.

Is there rush ordering?

If you have a tight deadline you're trying to meet, contact us before you send your dress. While we recommend starting the process at least 12 weeks before your event, we want to make everyone's transformation dreams come true! Please note that a rush fee may apply.

Do I need to prepare for the consultation?

Completing our Design Quiz is the very best way to prepare for your consultation. If you see products you're interested in, go ahead and add them to your Digital Wishlist by tapping the heart icon. The live consultation is where you'll finalize your product selections if you haven't place an order already.

If you're planning to create any garments, you should come prepared with the height and clothing size of the intended recipient.

When do I purchase my products?

If you know what you want to have made, you can simply add designs to your cart and checkout.

What happens if I don't have enough fabric?

We're usually able to make a number of products from any dress. But we also offer supplemental satin base fabric for an additional fee, if you really want to maximize your transformation. Your Design Consultant can help you choose the best option for your unique dress.

Can I order more products after my consultation?

Of course! Many of our clients order additional products over time. You can add more items while your dress is in production. The cost of your DressBox also includes up to 6 months of fabric safekeeping with our team which you can renew if you need more time.

Do you take special requests?

We love special requests. Just let your Design Consultant know what you have in mind. Depending on the request, customization fees may apply.

Can you combine two wedding dresses into redesigns?

Many of our clients have done just that. Multi-generational heirlooms are often some of the most sentimental and we'd love to help you create your own.
